Hunting With Fireheart

Stormpaw lead the way out of the Sandy Hollow and to Snakerocks. A cool breeze blew that sent shivers run down her spine.
She looked back at Fireheart to make sure she was still with her.

Fireheart held her head high to the breeze. It also sent a chill down her spine

Stormpaw sat down and waited For Fireheart's Instuctions. She smelt soot form the old fire, stale badger, and fresh bird. "I've never hunted a bird before..." she murmured.

"It's not that hard once you get to know how." Fireheart sat. She then noticed a weak quail flutter by. Still a few feet above the ground, Firehert turned to Stormpaw and threw her head towards it's direction

Stormpaw crouched low, she had never seen a bird like that. She opened her mouth to speak but didn't want to scare it off. she shut her mouth.

Fireheart watched. She whispered. "Whispere so low that it cannot hear you." Fireheart lowered down and into her bird hunting crouch. Motion for Stormpaw to do the same.

Stormpaw coruched down in the same postion fireheart was in and gave a short nod. She peered over at the bird creature and waited, her body tense.

Stormpaw then luanched herself from hehind and collided with the Quail. It flaped it's wings furiously but she kept it pinned and she broke the birds neck like her mother had tought her to do. She looked over at Fireheart, waiting.

"GREAT!" Fireheart looked down at the bird as it's nerves forced it to flutter a bit again, then it's effort died down.

Stormpaw smiled and dipped her head to fireheart, finally releaseing the bird from her mouth that she had proudly captured.

Fireheart looked at her apprentice. "Want to sniff for something else?" She asked. Smelling a faint scent of mouse, and the blood roaring though her ears was soon knocked out by the scuffling of tiny feet.

Stormpaw closed her eyes and tried to consentrate as she picked up the scent of mouse but an even fresher scent of fox. She blinked with interest and slowly stalked towards the new scent without fireheart's consent on it.
